Heritage Impact Assessment
Earl Shilton, Leicestershire
Outline planning permission was secured for the Earl Shilton Sustainable Urban Extension in Leicestershire. The development will provide 450 new homes over 16ha of former farm land for new business premises, a new primary school and services.
Locus Consulting complete a Heritage Impact Assessment and negotiated archaeological conditions to help secure planning permission for the development. In this instance, we undertook a short programme of geophysical survey and trial-trenching to confirm archaeological potential, and a rapid building survey of a historic farmstead to enable later demolition.
